The Audio-Technica AT-VMN95ML is a high-quality replacement stylus from the VM95 series, featuring an aluminum cantilever and a MicroLine diamond stylus with a square shank. Thanks to its advanced MicroLine profile, this stylus offers exceptionally precise groove tracking and a highly detailed reproduction of the music signal.

The MicroLine diamond stylus is designed to replicate the shape of the original cutting tool used to manufacture the record as accurately as possible. This allows for the reproduction of high frequencies with great precision, while distortion and wear are significantly lower than with elliptical or conventional line-contact styluses. Furthermore, so-called inner-groove distortion is minimized, resulting in consistent sound quality across the entire record surface.

Like all diamond styluses, a MicroLine stylus is also subject to wear and tear. However, thanks to its advanced geometry, its average lifespan is approximately 1,000 hours of playback. By comparison, a conical stylus lasts about 500 hours, an elliptical stylus about 300 hours, and a Shibata stylus about 800 hours.

Thanks to the VM95 series’ replaceable design, there’s no need to replace the entire cartridge when it wears out. By replacing only the stylus, the cartridge can be used virtually indefinitely. In addition, the series offers the option to upgrade to different needle types, allowing you to further tailor the sound characteristics to your personal preferences.
