The Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML is equipped with a bare MicroLine diamond stylus, which not only offers a significantly longer lifespan but also ensures an extremely accurate reproduction of the music. Thanks to its line-contact profile, distortion in the inner grooves of the record is minimized, while the frequency response is extended and resolution in the midrange and high frequencies is further improved. The cartridge uses an aluminum cantilever and delivers an output voltage of 3.5 mV, with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 25 kHz.

The VM95 series is designed with durability and flexibility in mind. A MicroLine stylus has an average lifespan of approximately 1,000 hours of playback, which is significantly longer than that of conical and elliptical styluses. When the diamond is worn out, there is no need to replace the entire cartridge. By simply replacing the stylus, the cartridge can be used virtually indefinitely. In addition, the series offers the option to upgrade to other stylus types for a customized listening experience.

All six cartridges in the VM95 series use the same electromagnetic generator, making all replacement needles fully interchangeable. As a result, the AT-VMN95C, AT-VMN95E, AT-VMN95EN, AT-VMN95ML, AT-VMN95SH, and AT-VMN95SP can be used without any issues on the same cartridge housing.

It is also compatible with the AT-XP series of DJ cartridges. The XP series’ generator is fully compatible with the VM95 replacement needles and delivers a higher output voltage, which enhances performance when used with professional DJ mixers. Conversely, the AT-XP series needles can also be used on the VM95 cartridges. The suspension and compliance of the XP series are optimized for intensive DJ use, including manual cueing and back-cueing, while the VM95 series is specifically tuned for the most natural audio reproduction possible.

The MicroLine diamond stylus is distinguished by its excellent high-frequency response and causes less wear and distortion than elliptical or conventional line-contact styluses. As a result, sound quality remains optimal for a longer period of time.

Like the other models in the VM95 series, the AT-VM95ML is equipped with two M2.6 threaded inserts, allowing it to be mounted on a tonearm or detachable headshell without the use of nuts. Each cartridge comes with a pair of 8 mm M2.6 screws, a pair of 11 mm M2.6 screws, and two plastic washers, ensuring a simple and secure installation.
