The Shelly i4 Gen 3 is a compact smart switch module that lets you turn your existing wall switches into a powerful remote control for your smart home. With four separate inputs, you can easily control different devices, scenes, and automations without the module itself needing a relay.

Thanks to its compact design, the Shelly i4 Gen 3 fits easily behind existing switches or in a standard flush-mount box. Connect one or more switches and control lights, roller shutters, sunshades, smart plugs, or other Shelly devices wirelessly from a single central location.

Four inputs for maximum flexibility

The Shelly i4 Gen 3 has four separate inputs that you can use to assign different actions. Each button can perform multiple functions, depending on how you operate it.

For example, use a short press to turn a light on or off, a long press to dim it, or a double press to activate a scene. This allows you to set up to 16 different actions with a single compact module.

Wireless Control Without a Relay

The Shelly i4 Gen 3 has no outputs and therefore does not directly control a light or device. The module is specifically designed to wirelessly control other smart devices via scenes, actions, and automations.

For example, control multiple Shelly relays, smart lights, or devices with a single press of your existing wall switch. Voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa is also supported.

New Gen3 hardware with more capabilities

The third-generation Shelly i4 is equipped with the powerful ESP-Shelly-C38F chip with 8MB of flash memory. This allows for faster updates and provides the module with more space for future features and firmware updates.

In addition, the Shelly i4 Gen 3 features Bluetooth for easy installation, enhanced security, MQTT with SSL support, scripting, and support for local automations.

Easy integration with smart home systems

Thanks to its open-source software and broad support, the Shelly i4 Gen 3 integrates easily with popular smart home systems such as Home Assistant, Homey, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa.

Using the free Shelly Smart Control app, you can easily set up scenes, actions, and automations. For example, with a single tap, you can turn off multiple lights, close your blinds, or activate a complete "coming home" scene.

Improved connections and compact installation

The connection terminals on the Shelly i4 Gen 3 have been improved and are compatible with cables up to 2.5 mm². This makes installation easier and more reliable, even in existing electrical systems.

The module is connected to 110–240 V AC and requires a blue neutral wire for proper operation.

No cloud required

In addition to Shelly Cloud support, the Shelly i4 Gen 3 also offers local control via MQTT. This allows you to integrate your smart home securely and reliably without relying on external cloud services.
