Advanced streaming platform

The SM90 runs on an optimized, closed Android 12 platform developed specifically for audio. Thanks to its powerful Rockchip ARM Cortex processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage, the system responds quickly and smoothly. The streamer is easy to control via the 4.96-inch Full HD touchscreen or the Eddict Player app.

Popular streaming services are available directly from the device, including Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Amazon Music, Presto Music, and KKBox. In addition, the SM90 supports TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2, and DLNA, and Roon Ready certification is in the works. This makes it easy to play music from smartphones, tablets, or computers.

High-quality DAC with refined sound quality

For digital-to-analog conversion, the SM90 uses two AKM AK4493S DACs. This dual-DAC configuration is known for its natural, warm sound with excellent detail. Combined with high-quality OPA1612 op-amps, a precise clock circuit, and a carefully designed analog output, the SM90 delivers a spacious, transparent, and musical sound.

Thanks to Shanling's AGLO technology (Android Global Lossless Output), PCM signals up to 32-bit/768 kHz and DSD512 are processed bit-perfectly, without any unwanted resampling within the Android operating system.

Extensive connectivity options

The Shanling SM90 is designed as a versatile audio hub and offers both analog and digital connections. It features RCA and balanced XLR outputs for connecting to amplifiers. In addition, the streamer has coaxial, optical, USB DAC, and HDMI ARC inputs, as well as coaxial, optical, and USB audio outputs.

This allows the SM90 to work seamlessly with external DACs, CD players, televisions, and amplifiers. The addition of HDMI ARC also makes it easy to play high-quality audio from a television through your hi-fi system.

Streaming from any source

In addition to online streaming, the SM90 supports extensive local playback options. Music can be played from USB storage, network-attached storage (NAS), or an internally installed M.2 PCIe SSD. This allows an entire music library to be stored directly in the streamer, without relying on external storage devices.

The SM90 supports virtually all common audio formats, including PCM up to 768 kHz, DSD512, and a wide range of lossless and high-resolution file formats.

Stable network connection

To ensure a reliable streaming experience, the SM90 features a Gigabit LAN port and a modern dual-band Wi-Fi 6 module (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). In addition, the device can also function as a Bluetooth 5.2 receiver with support for LDAC, AAC, and SBC, allowing you to easily stream music wirelessly from a smartphone or tablet.

Linear power supply for optimal performance

The audio quality is further enhanced by a high-quality linear power supply featuring a 35-watt toroidal transformer. This power supply delivers a stable and clean power source, resulting in a lower noise floor and a more natural, analog sound reproduction.
