The Shanling ET3 EVO is the updated version of Shanling’s popular CD transport and combines a striking new design with subtle technical improvements. This high-quality CD transport is designed for music lovers who want to pair their CD collection with a high-quality external DAC (digital-to-analog converter). The ET3 EVO therefore features only digital outputs and requires an external DAC to play music.

Beneath its redesigned casing, the ET3 EVO utilizes the same high-quality technology as its predecessor. The dual-core Ingenic X2000 processor, the CT7302CL DSD and PCM upscaler, and the combination of the Philips SAA7824 servo with the reliable Sanyo HD850 CD drive ensure an extremely stable and accurate playback of your CD collection. In addition, the power supply and digital transport system have been further optimized, resulting in an even more transparent and refined sound reproduction.

In terms of connectivity, the ET3 EVO is exceptionally well-equipped. In addition to USB-A inputs and outputs, it features I2S, AES/EBU, optical, and coaxial digital outputs, making it easy to pair with virtually any high-quality DAC. Wireless capabilities are also included. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC, you can easily stream music from compatible devices. Via dual-band Wi-Fi, the player also supports DLNA and AirPlay, while the free Eddict Player app allows you to easily control the ET3 EVO remotely.

The design has also received a major upgrade. The ET3 EVO features a stylish dark gray aluminum chassis with a carbon-look finish on the front panel and CD door. The glossy red control knob gives the player a modern and dynamic look that fits perfectly into a contemporary desktop or hi-fi setup. The top features a removable panel made of tinted tempered glass, and the front is equipped with a clear 320 × 290-pixel IPS LCD screen for easy navigation.

The ET3 EVO has the same dimensions as the Shanling EH3 DAC and headphone amplifier and is specifically designed to work perfectly with this component. Via the high-quality I2S connection, the two devices form an ideal combination for playing CDs and MQA CDs with the highest possible sound quality.
