Onix Zenith XMT20

The latest addition to the Zenith family has arrived, rounding out the lineup alongside the ONIX XST20 SACD transport and the ONIX XDA20 DAC.

The ONIX XMT20 is the first model equipped with the newly developed Linux streaming platform. It places a strong emphasis on remote control, thanks to the full integration of TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Roon Ready certification. A USB port and internal SSD slot enable gapless local playback of all types of high-resolution audio files. Control is simple via the Eddict Controller app for Android and iOS. In addition, built-in support for DLNA and AirPlay 2 ensures maximum flexibility in any playback situation.

The XMT20 features no fewer than six digital outputs, including coaxial, optical, BNC, and AES/EBU, supplemented by an advanced USB output and a dedicated I²S output. The FPGA-supported I²S output offers ten preconfigured pinouts, ensuring exceptionally broad compatibility with virtually all I²S-compatible DACs on the market. Two high-precision KDS crystal oscillators guarantee a high-end digital output with significantly reduced jitter.

In addition, the XMT20 features a new CD playback and ripping system, compatible with standard USB CD drives or the advanced Shanling CR60 CD player. This allows CDs to be played directly or ripped to an SSD or USB storage device. The system supports automatic tagging and the downloading of album covers, all managed through the Eddict Controller app.

The design follows the recognizable style of the Zenith line, featuring a robust aluminum chassis that has been CNC-milled with extreme precision. The iconic gold control wheel highlights the traditional ONIX heritage. Power is supplied by a 25VA Talema transformer, which contributes to the excellent hi-fi performance and perfectly complements the quality of the XST20 SACD transport.
