The DS Audio HS-001 Solid Headshell is designed for maximum stability and optimal signal transmission between the cartridge and the tonearm. Thanks to a unique design featuring contact pins on both the top and bottom, pressure is evenly distributed across the electrical contacts. This creates a more stable connection with the tonearm and further reduces unwanted resonance. In addition, the headshell utilizes a spherical ring specially developed by DS Audio, which ensures even pressure distribution across the entire contact surface.
For maximum rigidity and excellent resonance control, each HS-001 is precision-machined from a solid block of ultra-duralumin. This high-quality construction provides a solid foundation for accurate reproduction and contributes to optimal sound quality.
The internal signal wiring consists of high-quality Litz wires manufactured in Japan. After extensive listening sessions, this type of wiring was chosen for its excellent signal characteristics. The sensitive wiring is hand-soldered to fully preserve the integrity of the audio signal and thus achieve the best possible performance. Upon request, the connectors and wiring are also available without soldered connections.
