Grado Labs Classic Series Hemp

The Grado Hemp began in 2020 as a limited-edition experimental model focused on material selection and sound. What was intended as a playful exploration of new materials quickly evolved into a model with its own following. Listeners particularly appreciated its warm, full sound and natural rhythmic reproduction, which ultimately earned the Hemp a permanent place in the Classic Series.

44 mm X2 dynamic driver

At the heart of the Hemp is the 44 mm X2 dynamic driver with a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil, and rare-earth magnet system. This driver is tuned for a fuller and more natural sound, with an emphasis on warmth and musicality.

The sound is less analytical than that of other models in the series and focuses primarily on a relaxed, organic listening experience with a solid foundation in the bass and a smooth midrange.

Signature Silver Headband Construction

The Hemp features the Signature Silver headband construction, which is based on the same technical foundation as the Signature Gold system. The construction combines sturdy yet lightweight components with controlled rotation for a stable fit.

The leather headband with contrasting stitching ensures comfort during extended listening sessions, while the internal steel spring construction makes it easy to adjust the clamping force.

Signature Silver Cable

The headphones come with the Signature Silver cable, which is lighter and more flexible than previous cable designs. This enhances ease of use and ensures reliable signal transmission without adding extra weight or stiffness.

F-ear pads

The Hemp comes standard with F-earpads that position the driver closer to the ear, contributing to a direct and immersive sound. As with other Grado models, the earpads can be used as a sound-tuning element to subtly influence the sound signature.

Bi-wood housing made of hemp and maple

The Hemp's enclosure is made from a combination of hemp wood and maple. The hemp material provides natural damping and a warm, full-bodied tone, while the maple adds structural stability and control around the driver section.

In addition to its acoustic properties, sustainability also plays a role: hemp grows quickly and can be harvested efficiently, which contributes to a more responsible choice of materials in production.
