Audio-Technica AT-VMN95EN

The Audio-Technica AT-VMN95EN is a high-quality replacement stylus from the VM95 series and features an aluminum cantilever and a nude elliptical diamond stylus with a round shank. Thanks to its nude construction, this stylus offers even more precise groove tracking and a more refined sound reproduction than a standard bonded elliptical stylus.

The bare elliptical diamond stylus follows the modulations of the record groove with great precision. This improves the frequency response and phase reproduction and further reduces distortion. The result is an open, detailed, and lifelike soundstage with excellent balance across the entire frequency range.

Like all diamond styluses, the elliptical nude stylus is also subject to wear and tear. Its average lifespan is approximately 300 hours of playback. By comparison, a conical stylus lasts about 500 hours, a MicroLine stylus about 1,000 hours, and a Shibata stylus about 800 hours.

Thanks to the VM95 series’ replaceable design, there’s no need to replace the entire cartridge when it wears out. By simply replacing the stylus, the cartridge can be used virtually indefinitely. In addition, the series allows you to experiment with different needle types to further tailor the sound characteristics to your personal preferences.
