Denon DCD-2500NE

The Denon DCD-2500NE Super Audio CD player belongs to one of the finest players ever built by Denon. As one of the founders of Digital Audio, the manufacturer has built up an excellent reputation as a manufacturer of high quality built and good sounding CD players. With the advent of home cinema and later highres streaming audio, the manufacturer has not stopped the developments, but has constantly implemented new inventions into its players.

For the development of this DCD-2500NE, Denon has inventoried all its inventions, technology and brains to make an uncompromising player for the music purist and as a basis for all succeeding Denon players. For this purpose, Denon even developed a completely new drive assembly. Developments do not stop here. Denon developed a rigid and resonance dampening Direct Mechanical Ground Construction chassis and fitted it with optimal dampening feet. Denon has separated the analogue, digital and control sections with different PC boards. The manufacturer has also applied a separate power supply with an oversized capacity for each section. all to make this Denon the best performing player ever. The last player you will ever buy.

Tried and tested and further developed

This DCD-2500 NE player features Denon's DAC Master Clock Design with two separate oscillators for 44.1 and 48kHz. This highly accurate clock circuit ensures a jitter-free conversion of digital data streams. Converting the normal 16-bit CD format is done through Denon's advanced AL32 processing technology. The Advanced AL32 Processing Plus widens the original 16 bit width to 32 bits by interpolation providing a significantly lower quantification noise and offers an unparalleled 'analog' sounding music reproduction. This technology is directly derived from Denon's legendary 20-bit Alpha processing from the heyday of the medium and has been substantially refined over the past decades. Finally, this player is equipped with a Pure Direct function to express the premium sound quality of this player even better.

Analogue performance

Building this DCD-2500NE Denon solely uses high-grade components, separated both signal paths and keep them as short as possible. In addition to Super Audio CDs, this Denon DCD-2500NE SACD player also plays normal Redbook CDs and DVDR/W discs containing DSD, WAV, WMA, ALAC and MP3 files. The digital to analogue conversion is handled by a 32-bit PCM1795 DAC chip at a high-res sampling frequency of 192kHz. These Burr Brown DA converters are one of the most sophisticated DA converters in the Hi-Fi industry. These converters offer a high dynamic range, low noise, a neutral frequency response and allow an open, well-layered and undistorted music playback.
